The past couple of weeks have been somewhat eventful as we get closer and closer to our move date. Last week my work hosted a baby shower for me which was a lot of fun! They had planned a shower for me while I was pregnant, but Ethan decided to make his grand appearance 2 days before my shower, though they kindly rescheduled it. It was wonderful to see many of my coworkers after a couple of months away and it was fun to introduce them to Ethan! He came to the shower but apparently didn’t find it particularly interesting, since he slept through the entire thing…..men, I swear
It was also a bit of a going away party since I sadly won’t be returning to work at Turner due to our move. I really enjoyed seeing everyone and appreciated their generosity. Big thanks especially to Kim who planned a wonderful shower and had some great decorative ideas which I will steal for future showers that I plan!

Ethan does not find the shower to be remotely interesting.
On Tuesday poor little Ethan had to go get his first round of shots so that he won’t catch some horrible disease. Other than the shots, he had a great appointment. He now weighs 11 lb. 4 oz. and is perfectly on track with his growth. I tried to prepare him for getting his shots, but as you can see, he had no idea what he was in for as he doesn’t look scared in this pic taken shortly before the nurse evilly stabbed him with multiple needles.

Shots? What shots?
Sadly he learned what shots were shortly afterwards and he doesn’t like them any more than his dad does. (Yes, James is a bit of a wimp when it comes to needles.) Here is poor Ethan after his shots.

Mom, if you ever make me do that again then I will send the boogeyman after you....
But, Ethan is a brave little guy and after some hugs and kisses from mom he forgot all about it and was smiling again after a few minutes.
Speaking of smiling, today Ethan LAUGHED out loud for the first time while awake. He laughs sometimes in his sleep but while he was looking at one of Papaneaux’s purple orchids he just cooed and talked and grinned at it and then laughed and chuckled at it! So cute! Looks like Papaneaux has a budding gardener on his hands. He also slept all the way through the night last night. Normally he wakes up for one feeding but he slept from 9pm – 6:30am! So I got lots of sleep last night too which was a treat.
Ethan also has a little girlfriend already, he’s such the ladies man. Hannah Claire and Ethan went to the mall and hung out and told secrets. They made their moms (Amy and Amy, respectively) walk behind them at all times so they wouldn’t be embarrassed by us (they grow up so fast.) I also learned a new way to carry Ethan in his sling!

Ethan also took his first trip to the Georgia Aquarium with Camp Horizon. He really enjoyed looking at all the fish and meeting his Camp Horizon family. He also got to spend some good time with his Aunt Amy and Granny Gay.

Waiting to go into the aquarium with Granny Gay
In other (non-Ethan) news (as if there is such a thing), James has been up in NJ this week and next talking with contractors and getting our house ready to move in. We finally have some plans drawn up for the installation of our bathroom. This will obviously not be finished (or even started) before we move, but we hope to get all the permits approved and start construction during our visit back to Atlanta over Christmas. The plans look pretty nice, so we are excited to create a bathroom for our new house! Once things get started I’ll post pre and post construction pics for all you home improvement buffs. That’s all for now. The countdown to moving continues. Hope to see any friends and family who can come at our going away party on Oct. 19. Contact me for details if you didn’t get the evite.
