Happy 11 month birthday Ethan!

I’m not entirely sure I believe it, but Ethan is now 11 months old.  Plans for celebrating his birthday are in full swing.  He is feeding himself, getting brave enough to walk (or fall, really, but he’s getting there) back and forth between James and I without holding on.  He says “mama” and “ada.”  He is getting to be very strong willed and independent.  He has learned to throw things and does it every chance he gets.  He likes to climb EVERYTHING and if its quiet its almost guaranteed that he has found something to climb up.  He loves to play in the water….usually (hopefully) that’s his water table, but if I leave the toilet lid up he has an uncanny ability to know and scoot in there before I have a chance to think and splash the toilet water all around.  He loves his kitty cats and crawls at them quickly saying “aaaa”  ”Aaaa.”  He likes to kiss them.  He’s also a total snuggle buggle.  He likes to crawl around and play with his toys, then crawl to me or James, give us big hugs and kisses and crawl off again to roll his cars around.  He has also started mimicking things that we do, for instance, when we play cars with him we roll the car up and down his arms and over his head.  When he is playing by himself we have seen him do the same thing, run the car over his arms and around his head, its so cute.   He is fantastic.

Trying to take his 11 month pics were a bit of a challenge.  He didn’t want to sit still and smile…none of my tricks worked.  Personally I think the series of pics is quite funny.  Normally I can get a good pic in 10 pics or so….this time, not so much.    Here are all the failed attempts at getting a good 11 month picture.  He has just woken up from a long nap (3 hrs!) and was a little out of sorts, crawling everywhere and much more interested in my Dr. Pepper can than in sitting still and smiling nicely for a picture.
